I am currently involved with setting up a organisation for young Labour Party members in West Yorkshire. I wanted to create a network of young people who would get together and organise both campaigning events and social events. It is vital for our party to attract new members and I am very pleased with the interest that this organisation has generated.
On March 7th, West Yorkshire Young Labour held it’s first social event: a curry night at Omar Khan’s restaurant in Bradford. The curry night was a huge success, with members coming from across West Yorkshire and beyond! I am particularly grateful to those members from further afield who came to give us their support. We were also pleased to welcome Emma Hoddinott, one of our European candidates for the forthcoming June elections. Emma spoke about the pressing need for Labour Party members to get out onto the doorstep and get out the vote.
The West Yorkshire Young Labour committee is organising a calendar of social events for April and May. If you are interested in joining our group or coming along to one of the events, we’d love to hear from you!
